Personal Move

+   more than two persons

A game with movement

The participants form a circle. The first participant says out loud her/his name and makes any specific/funny movement. The second participant repeats both the movement and the name a makes his/her own movement and says the name. Every participant repeats the names and movements of all the participants proceeding her/him. The game continues until all the participants have said their names and movements. Comment: It may be quite difficult for the participants staying at the end of circle to repeat all the names and movements, so they can do it together. The game should be quick not to become boring for the participants who wait for their turn.

Name and Movement

+   more than two persons

Association between names and words

The participants form a circle. The first participant says out loud her/his name and a word that starts with the first letter of her/his name and is somehow connected to persons life (some associations) and makes a specific/funny movement regarding this word. Every participant repeats the movement and the name which s/he liked the most and shows his/her own movement. The game continues until all the participants have said their names, words and movements.

Vampire in the Middle

+   more than two persons

A movement game

One person is the vampire in the center of a circle. He stretches out both arms and walks slowly towards a person he chooses at first. This person can only defend himself with saying another person’s name. The vampire will now go this newly named person and will to be there quicker as he can say another name. Then this persons becomes the new vampire in the middle.

Throwing the Name Ball

+   more than two persons

Ball game in a circle

Stand in a circle, have three tennis balls (or similar balls). Start saying your name and another name to whom you throw the ball softly (!). This person will now say: “Thank you, Julian. Eu sunt Swieta. Pozhaluista, Eugen!”. When everybody had the ball it will be thrown to you again. Now start again throwing to the same people, adding the second and the third ball. Ask the group to make it as quick as they can.

Orientation on the Map

+   more than two persons

A sociometric task

Have a big space and tell all this is the map Europe (or the map of the world if the group is more diverse). Give orientation of where north, south, west and east are, and give one example of a geolocation (i.e. this spot is Chisinau) and ask all the participants to find the spot on this imagined map where they were born. Go around and let everybody tell their place of birth and their name. Now ask everybody to find a place where they live now. Make another round to let everybody tell the place and name.

Line up: A-Z

+   more than two persons

Build a line

All the participants should place themselves in a line in an alphabetic order according to their (first) names. Thus, the line starts with the person whose first name starts with the letter “A” and ends the person whose name starts with the letter “Z” (in case first letters are the same- participants should compare 2-nd, 3-rd letters and so on). After the line is created the facilitator walks along the formed line and asks the names again. If mistakes are found correct them by asking the participants to change their places. (Variation: do it in silence without talking)

Line up: Age

+   more than two persons

Another line game

All the participants should place themselves in a line according to their age starting from the youngest and ending with the oldest (participants with the same year of birth should compare their months or days of birth). After the line is created the facilitator walks along the formed line and asks the ages again. If mistakes are found correct them by asking the participants to change their places. (Variation: do it in silence without talking)
