This toolbox has the aim to unleash civil initiative with competency based learning approaches. We think, that learning and education can much more contribute to a better world than they do with a only focus on knowledge dissemination. Education understood as empowerment means to contribute to lifelong learning and to help people to apply their power and skills for something purposeful and for the public good. It is a collaborative task of families and schools, initiatives other organizations providing learning.

Competencies

Introduction: For applying complex knowledge it is not enough simply to teach it. Therefore learning processes have to be open enough to cover the broad range of skills, knowledge and experience, that one needs for his or her work or activity.

Experiential Learning

Introduction: Experiential learning is holistic learning that combines everyday life, school, and all activities beyond formal education in the civil society. Learning from life meets the facilitation of knowledge.

Conflict Management

Introduction: conflict resolution is very important because conflict influences the quality of collaboration and cooperation in the group. With conflict management we improve the quality and efficiency of communication in our group and equip our participants with conflict management skills.

It starts with yourself

Introduction:Before our participants or students may imagine the bigger picture behind their activties, for what they may use their knowledge, capacities, skills, we as facilitator need to reflect on our vision, our skills. Empowering learning processes require motivating, appreciating and professional facilitators.
