How to inspire personal, professional and societal development? The project partners develop a collection of well-tried innovative approaches and methods by trainers for trainers, teachers and facilitators. The aim is to enhance quality and add inspiration and authenticity in their trainings. We develop these materials in the framework of an Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership Collaboration.
Competendo: Empowerment for Active Citizenship
The toolbox builds a bridge between theoretical dimension (competency concept and validation frameworks), societal impact (socio-political dimension) and the concrete working fields of actors in formal and non-formal education (field dimension). It makes concrete methodology accessible, helps during planning trainings and empowerment programs and targets as well facilitators and educators that have less experience or are less involved in the European and national discourses on non-formal education, didactical principles or validation.
The toolbox develops continuously during the partnership and beyond. It shapes synergies between partner organizations, in educational activities and for experts.
Handbooks for Facilitators
The handbooks for facilitators, trainers, animators or other educators will be published as PDFs, ebooks and hard copies. They will be completed by additional working material and the content of the virtual toolbox.
Grounding on our experience this attunement between print product and online source allows us to use the strengths of each media best. Print supports understanding of content more holistic and to develop a more precise story. The virtual toolbox allows more interconnection of content, more completing methods, involvement of third people`s experience, tips and links in an ongoing way. 7
Building Bridges between Practice, Policy and Science
With events, trainings, networking and an international conference we shape dialogue with trainers, experts, and representatives of the different policy sectors.This dialogue leads to quality in education, to better conditions for competency based learning and to the development of new and better instruments on local, national and European level.
Therefore the partnership involves in the already existing networks for Democratic Citizenship Education and includes their valuable findings and outcomes.

Competendo is a cooperation between five civil society organizations in Germany, Austria, Bulgaria and Poland. We are developing and implementing educational programs, developing handbooks and offer qualification for activists and professionals in formal- and non-formal education and in civil society. Together we are advocating for the ideas of empowerment and active citizenship.
